Womyn's music and music by women

The Sousa Archives and Center for American Music is again leading this year’s One Community Together programming this weekend’s Sweet Corn Festival and we have a variety of music concerts and activities planned for folks of all ages.  As in years past we will also highlight all of the community’s archives, specials collections, libraries, and museums.  New to this year’s programming we are reaching out to our local communities of Urbana, Champaign, and the University of Illinois to collect vegetable seeds that can be sent to the east Zambia community of Musalila to help them to become more self-sustained through simple agriculture exchange efforts in their small part of the world.  All seed packets collected during this year’s Sweet Corn Festival will be packed up and taken to Musalila in November by Nicole Bridges who manages Champaign’s Prosperity Gardens and who was responsible for establishing the seed exchange program in Zambia as part of her Peace Corp project. More information on our “Seed Feed Flourish” efforts can be learned at [events@urbanabusiness.com].

I hope you can join us for an exciting weekend of music and children’s activities, and the best part of this entire affair is that everything is listed below is FREE.  So why not come to the Sweet Corn Festival for a sweet time.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Have a great morning.  scott
