Acclaimed poet Hakim Bellamy & more!

Co-sponsored by Prometheus Radio Project, Media Action Grassroots Network,
Free Press, New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative, Urbana
Public Television, Volo Broadband, Chambana.net, Makerspace Urbana, WEFT
90.1 FM, and Radio Free Urbana.

This year’s theme is “The Future of Community Radio.” With digital
technology, local community radio stations have the opportunity to engage
global audiences, deploy mobile studios, share community wireless
internet, and become multi-media community centers. Together we will chart
a vision for community radio as a dynamic community-building tool for
decades to come!

We’ll be working with the Prometheus Radio Project to host a “Get on the
Air” clinic.  We’ll show you how to start a radio station in your
community and stream your station online.

You can tour Urbana-Champaign’s new public broadband system and attend
sessions on youth power, building your own wireless Internet access point,
using radio to achieve social justice and much more.

Don’t forget to register today to receive the discount rate. Prices go up
on June 19th.
